This is a part-time position up to 24 hours per week. This is a grant funded part-time position scheduled to expire on or before May 30, 2019. Candidates can not be current Adjunct Instructor or current Atlantic Cape Student.

Duties:
  • Reports to the Dean, Career Education and Workforce Development
  • Assists students in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in researching possible career options that match their career interests
  • Assesses students for suitability in different CTE career occupations
  • Offers personal and professional development guidance
  • Assists students in identifying and realizing career goals
  • Recommends educational pathways to assist students in achieving their degree
  • Provides students with intrusive coaching and support
  • Responds to requests from students for assistance in college and career pathway
  • Uses technology to facilitate student communication and coaching sessions
  • Assist students in finding career information on the web
  • Advises students on resume writing, interviewing and job searching skills
  • Provides monthly student engagement logs to the Dean
  • Builds relationships across the College
  • Serves as a liaison to academic departments
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  •  Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

  • Three-five years experience working in career coaching-related position within an organization that supports higher education collaboration

Competencies and Skills:

  • Ability to work with a diverse student population
  • Proficient communication skills (both verbal and written) and organizational skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Technology skills that include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Candidate can not be current Adjunct Faculty or current Atlantic Cape Student.

  • Must be available to travel throughout the state of New Jersey. Flexible schedule required, evenings and weekends at any Atlantic Cape locations or other locations in New Jersey.
